Scope of Work
- Curricular Development:Create and maintain the educational resources included in the National Agricultural Literacy Curriculum Matrix.
- Evaluation Instrumentation:Develop tools to evaluate the effectiveness of agricultural literacy curricula and programs in meeting identified outcomes.
- Professional Development:Offer training programs to deepen understanding and improve the effectiveness of agricultural literacy initiatives.

NCAL has a close relationship with several groups working towards agricultural literacy.
National Agriculture in the Classroom Organization (NAITCO)
NAITCO is a nonprofit organization that coordinates a network of state-level Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) programs that promote agricultural literacy in K-12 education. NAITCO’s work is complemented by the research and resources provided by NCAL.
AgClassroomStore
The AgClassroomStore provides teachers with classroom-ready kits and resources customized to accompany lessons developed by NCAL and featured in the National Agricultural Literacy Curriculum Matrix.
Utah State University (USU)
NCAL is housed at USU in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences, Department of Applied Sciences, Technology, Education. USU helps provide the academic and research support needed for NCAL’s work, including access to faculty expertise, research facilities, and outreach programs.
